The best part about visiting the South is getting really good biscuits and gravy. You just don't get them in NJ. Found the Early Bird Biscuit Co. when planning a trip to Richmond. While waiting to order, you can watch the workers preparing fresh biscuits, and the staff members were all friendly and welcoming. The biscuit was large and flaky. The sausage gravy was hot with the perfect amount of spice to get you going in the morning. Can't beat the price either. Washed it all down with a strawberry lemonade. Great way to start a day of sightseeing and concert going.
